Take a Pregnancy Test

If you suspect you’re pregnant, the next step is to confirm it with a pregnancy test before moving forward. We offer pregnancy testing at our center free of charge.

While home tests can be accurate, results can be affected by timing or user error. An in-person appointment can help confirm your result and give you space to ask questions.

Schedule an Ultrasound

An ultrasound is an important next step after a positive test. This quick, noninvasive scan provides more information about your pregnancy and can help determine:

• Gestational age
• Viability
• Location of the pregnancy

Gestational age refers to how far along you are in the pregnancy.  This detail matters because abortion procedures are time-sensitive. For example, the abortion pill is FDA-approved through 10 weeks of gestation.

Confirming whether the pregnancy is viable means determining if it is progressing and whether a fetal heartbeat can be detected, as 26% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage.

Identifying the location of the pregnancy helps rule out ectopic pregnancy, which occurs when a pregnancy develops outside the uterus, often in the fallopian tubes, and requires immediate medical attention.

About 20% of the US population has a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or sexually transmitted disease (STD). The CDC recommends testing during pregnancy to help protect your health, as some infections can lead to complications if left untreated.
